Georgia Historical Society Awarded 4-Star Rating by Charity Navigator

Savannah Daily News

Oct. 4, 2011 - The Georgia Historical Society (GHS) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded Charity Navigator's coveted 4-star rating for sound fiscal management and commitment to accountability and transparency.

Based on four out of a possible four stars, this award recognizes GHS's efforts to execute its mission in a fiscally responsible way, adhering to good governance and other best practices that minimize the chance of unethical activities. Approximately a quarter of all Charity Navigator evaluated charities receive a 4-star rating, indicating that GHS exceeds industry standards and outperforms most other similar charities in America.

Charity Navigator, America's premier charity evaluator, highlights the work of efficient, ethical and open charities, while providing donors with essential information needed to give them greater confidence in the charitable choices they make.
