 y as author and historian Alan Taylor is inducted as the 2026 Vincent J. D
 ooley Distinguished Teaching Fellow. Following the induction\, enjoy a liv
 ely discussion with Dr. Taylor about his groundbreaking scholarly work and
  publications. The program will begin at 7:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Luthera
 n Church\, 10 West 31st Street\, in Savannah\, followed by a book signing 
 and sales.\n\nDooley Distinguished Teaching Fellows are national leaders i
 n the field of history as both writers and educators whose research has en
 hanced or changed the way the public understands the past. Previous induct
 ees include Steve Oney\, Prize-winning journalist and historian\, Annette
  Gordon-Reed\, Pulitzer Prize-winning author and historian\, Rick Atkinson
 \, Pulitzer Prize-winning author and journalist\, and David W. Blight\, C
 lass of 1954 Professor of American History at Yale University.\n\nThe even

 an Taylor is an American historian and scholar who\, most recently\, was t
 he Thomas Jefferson Memorial Foundation Professor of History at the Univer
 sity of Virginia. A specialist in the early history of the United States\,
  Taylor has written extensively about the colonial history of the United S
 tates\, the American Revolution\, and the early American Republic. Taylor 
 has received two Pulitzer Prizes and the Bancroft Prize\, and was also a f
 inalist for the National Book Award for non-fiction. In 2020 he was electe
 d to the American Philosophical Society.\n\n&nbsp\;
