Oral History: It's Recorded, Now What?
Lecturer: John Dickinson
Dates: June 4 and August 20
Time: 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Cost: $35 per person
The most common problem with oral histories is the lack of follow
through once a recording has been made. Often tapes sit unattended
because individuals lack the skills or technical knowledge to process
the information. This class will introduce students to the hardware
and software to take an oral history recording from original medium to
digital production. Students will see options for both audio and video
uploading and production. Students do need to possess basic computer
and internet skills but do not need any special equipment to participate.
