            <p>James Longstreet Sibley Jennings, Jr. is an architect who resides in Alexandria, Virginia and whose family has a long history in Milledgeville, Georgia.</p>

            <head>Scope and content note</head>
            <p>This collection contains papers collected and regarding the work of James Longstreet Sibley Jennings from 1777 to 1996. Included within this collection are currency from the Revolutionary War era and Civil War era, correspondence, deeds from Lumpkin County and Baldwin County, scrapbooks and photograph albums regarding an ancestor's missionary work in Japan, as well as other photographs and scrapbooks featuring members of the Jennings, Couper, Sibley, and other related families. Also included are Jennings' research materials on the following: Josephine Sibley Couper; the 19th century painter. C. R. Parker; the Lockerly estate; the family bibles of Thomas Sully and John Neagle; the Georgia Dining Room; two centuries of architecture in Washington, D.C.; Georgians in the Congressional Cemetery; McMillan Reservoir and Park in Washington, D.C.; and the genealogy of Thomas Smith.</p>
