            <head>Biographical information</head>
            <p>Inez Tiedeman Chapin was the daughter of George W. Tiedeman (1861-1935), the former mayor of Savannah, Georgia from 1907-1913. She graduated from Smith College in 1913. In 1914, she married Roy D. Chapin (1880-1936), president of the Hudson Motor Car Company of Detroit, Michigan and Secretary of Commerce for President Herbert Hoover. The couple was married at Crafton Hall, the Tiedeman family home on the Isle of Hope in Savannah and they had six children together.</p>
