            <head>Scope and content note</head>
            <p>This collection contains two reports regarding archaeological excavations and investigations of areas in Chatham County, Georgia. The first report is entitled, A Phase II Archaeological and Historical Investigation of Springfield Plantation and a Civil War Earthwork at the North End of Skidaway Island State Park. This report was prepared for the Planning Section of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources by Archaeological Research Services of West Georgia College by Daniel L. Simpkins and Claudia Lamas in February 1990. The second report is entitled, W.P.A. Archaeological Excavations in Chatham County, Georgia: 1937-1942 by Chester B. DePratter in December 1991.</p>
