This collection contains one program book from 18 November 1933 and the 19 November 1933 issue of Savannah Morning News, commemorating Franklin D. Roosevelt's visit to Savannah for the bicentennial celebration of the founding of Georgia. President Roosevelt was the keynote speaker for the closing ceremonies of the 1933 bicentennial celebration held at the Savannah Municipal Stadium and addressed a crowd of nearly 40,000 Georgians and South Carolinians. Also included in this collection is one pageant book celebrating the 200th anniversary of the founding of Georgia. This book includes a brief history of Georgia as well as the details for the pageant held on 27-29 April 1933 in Savannah. This collection was delivered to the Georgia Historical Society by Mr. and Mrs. Graham Hurst of Savannah, Georgia.
