The mission of the Georgia Historical Society is to collect, examine and teach Georgia and American history through education and research. Among the most significant ways in which the Georgia Historical Society fulfills its mission is by collecting primary and secondary sources; by maintaining a library and archives for the preservation of its collection; and by operating a research facility for the use of its members and the general public.
